Hey guys,

So, I don’t usually do this, but I’m taking a bereavement hiatus. My 91- year old great aunt unfortunately passed away early this morning in the hospital. I personally had a very good relationship with her when she was alive. She was like a third grandmother to my little sister and I. She taught me how to peel shrimp and take apart a crab. I would drive her home as her personal chauffeur when she came every night to have dinner with my family, and we would chat on the ride to her home, which was something she really enjoyed, and we will really miss her. So for a few days, I will be taking a hiatus to grieve, but I will be back in action after the funeral and memorial service. Just wanted to get this off my chest and let you guys know what was going on, so that you all don’t freak out. I am just going through a rough time right now.

On this day, 20 years ago, at 9:00 PM EST, the original Teen Titans series made its series premiere on the air, and it left a lasting legacy for dozens of devoted fans like me. Thanks to that series, I was introduced to heroes like Raven, Starfire, Cyborg and Beast Boy, as well as villains like Deathstroke the Terminator, the Fearsome Five and Trigon. The show had great stories that were told, great character development, drama and heart.

Because of that show, I later decided to design my takes of the Teen Titans and their history on that incredible show, with some additions from the comics, like having Wonder Girl and Kid Flash be founding members of the Titans, adding members like Jericho and Kole to the main roster, and including Kole’s origin story as told in the comics. However, the show also inspired me to do completely original works in this gallery, such as giving Jump City a proper history, as well as provide history about Tamaran, Azarath and the Church of Blood. Heck! I even added in next gen Titans from Kingdom Come into the gallery!

All in all, this is a momentous day for the gallery, as without the OG Teen Titans show, this gallery probably would not have existed. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know and be made aware of just how much this occasion means to me as an artist here and as a DC comics fan. And so I close this entry out with some wise and we’ll spoken words: “When there’s trouble, you know who to call…”

Hey guys, so I wanted to share this with you as a heads up going forward, as well as a timeline of what's transpired and some transparency into some of my decision making. This morning, it was brought to my attention that a new Deviant and a new watcher to my gallery used three pics from my gallery in one of their own pics. Now, that is fine, but the problem is that this user did not ask for my express permission to use my pics for their own, nor did they give any credit where credit is due, which is clearly a violation of DeviantArt's rules. This is completely disrespectful behavior, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I refuse to let this type of behavior go on. That is not who I am and is not who I stand for. I immediately blocked this watcher, and will be taking necessary steps to ensure this does not happen again in the future. Suffice it to say, that this user behaved in conduct unbecoming of an artist. Just be aware that, going forward, if you decide that you want to use my art for one of your pics, please ask for my permission to use any of my pics first, and always be sure to give credit where credit is due. That is all I ask. Failure to do either of these two things will result in being reported or blocked. This is not something that I like doing, and I did not want to type this post up, but I felt that this needed to be addressed. Blocking watchers is something that is painful for me to do, because you guys are all some of the most creative people here and I want to ensure you all feel comfortable and proud here. The support you guys give is never lost on me, and I wouldn't be continuing this without the ingenuity and ideas you provide. Look, I understand that when stuff like this happens, there's going to be speculation, and gossip. And I ask that you respect the privacy of the parties that are caught up in this. I also know that on the Internet, things have a tendency to be blown out of proportion, so please: I ask that you exercise kindness and respect. Things will change here. What I hope is that there is also the opportunity for some positive growth as well. And I imagine that you guys will have tons of questions now, and I'm going to have more to say in the future. Just know that right now, I'm focused on bringing the best content possible.

Hey guys! So, while I was planning out my histories of the Amazons, I was playing Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to get a feel of the type of landscape for Themyscira, but it also brings up an interesting question: How did the Amazons feel about piracy?

As stated in my pic on Yara Flor, the Amazons do not like it when pirates target their merchant ships, and for both Bana-Mighdall and Themyscira, their navies are experts in fighting off pirates in the Red Sea and the West Indies. That being said, the Amazons were no strangers to the practice, and even were not above resorting to piracy themselves when the situation demanded. To them, piracy was just like the raids their ancestors conducted on the steppes for resources and weapons, but only at sea instead of on horseback.

I'd love to go into more of this, but I feel this is a literary post in its own right.
